In this original Indian adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet directed by Manish Tiwary and produced by the Shailesh Singh & Dhaval Gada, we see the story transferred to Banaras set in UP heartland and its neighboring areas that are witness to violence unleashed by the sand mafia controlled by the urban elite and an equally violent retaliation by Naxalite armies.
