Good interactions, maybe with another fellow teacher may be the magic that non motivated teachers need to get out of the rut is just someone to call out the good side of him. How will you get this motivation from music, well it depends on what you listen to, not your students playing on the keyboard alone, that is for the student not for you, create what your mind must hear to get it in the right gear, your favorite music will do it.

We must not be carries away with the students' behavior at the beginning as to determine whether they are talented or not.
Students do learn quickly when they are allowed to learn in an atmosphere where they are free to express themselves and where the teacher understands them well. Many teachers who adhere to a general rule, or a method they have et out themselves without regards for the students' attitude and personal preference will not get good results from the students. You must ensure that the student bring out the best in the course of the lesson by setting the right rule from the beginning which must be customized around the students preferences as much as possible. It is their class so it must suit their mind but not against the norms.
As a piano teacher, you can only keep your skill and knowledge intact by learning more, in no time your students will get better than you once they master the skill, you have to improve on your knowledge by all means.
Do not settle for an average result or performances strive to be and give the best. The learning process indeed can be a tough one which is necessary for a good pianist in the learning period, but it will eventually yield a life of joy, fulfillment and fun which will rub on others. The standards you set will help students to have respect for you and your teaching, it will help them to concentrate and settle for your class too.

Policies like fees, payment schedules and thing like missed lessons are part of the standards that must be set beforehand, use mediums like adverts to communicate this to your prospective students.
