We Are Seeing Addiction On TV These Days

By Brian Kingoa

If you have been watching hit television shows like 20/20 or the Discovery Channel, you may have witnessed many stories covering addiction. Drug and alcohol addiction has everyone on edge these days. Politicians are often telling us that addiction is affecting families from all walks of life. If you have a son or daughter that is addicted to drugs and alcohol, then you probably know exactly what I am talking about. Addiction today is mostly comprised of alcohol, heroin and crack. You will find that addiction has many faces to it. You will find that a lot of addicts prefer working alongside of someone that has gone through recovery themselves.

The good news is that the police have been able to seize thousands of pounds of heroin every single year. If these drugs were not seized, they often would have been sold on the streets. Some drug busts go into the millions of dollars. It is always sad to see someone hurting that has a drug problem. In reality, you may find that thousands of addicts across the world are trying to figure out how they can get sober. It is sad that many medical billers have to turn addicts away that need rehab. They get turned away because they don't have the right medical insurance to cover their treatment.

All across the USA, medical billing companies are having a difficult time getting people into their programs. They often argue that it's because insurance companies are not covering alcohol and drug treatment effectively. If a person has an out of pocket deductible for $5,000, they often cannot go to rehab. The reason is because they don't have $5,000 in their bank account to pay for treatment. After all, most addicts are living on the streets and often stealing money from their family members. It is hard to imagine yourself being addicted and having no true foundation for treatment.

Many addicts today are calling medical billing companies in order to see if their insurance will cover treatment. However, most medical billing companies turn addicts away because they don't have the right insurance for treatment. Treatment today is rather difficult. You have to be in touch with yourself in order to find out the truth. You must learn how to discipline yourself when it comes to getting help as fast as you can.

When an addict calls a rehabilitation treatment center, they are often turned away because the medical biller tells them that their insurance is not covered at the treatment center. In order to stop this, there has to be a program set up that helps addicts to find the right treatment facility that they can use their medical insurance with.
